A Highland Micro Wedding at Tulach Ard

Nestled on the edge of Loch Alsh lies the hidden gem of Tulach Ard House — a serene and picturesque venue that became the perfect backdrop for this beautiful summer micro wedding.

A Place with Meaning

Josie and Jerome’s story is one of a shared love for the great outdoors, with long cherished adventures to the West Coast! For this special couple, getting married at Tulach Ard wasn’t just about finding a stunning location; it needed to be a place that had meaning! A place where they could celebrate their love surrounded by nature and their closest friends and family. Having visited several times before, it was the perfect choice – a real home from home!

A Day of Perfect Weather & Perfect Vibes

On the day of the wedding, the weather couldn’t have been better. The sun shone brightly, with warm temperatures and no midges until the evening!! The ceremony, officiated by the wonderful humanist celebrant Francesca Leigh, took place in the lush garden, overlooking the shimmering loch.

Food, Fun, and Fiddle Tunes

After the ceremony, the relaxed atmosphere of the garden set the stage for games on the lawn. It was the perfect opportunity for friends and family to mingle and soak in the breathtaking surroundings before the delicious BBQ feast courtesy of Good Highland Food.

Before the dancing began — and oh, what a night of dancing it was — Josie and Jerome had a delightful surprise for their guests. Both accomplished fiddle players, the couple performed a beautiful duet, opening the ceilidh with a magical tune. It was such a personal and heartfelt moment that perfectly captured the day! Their guests couldn’t have been more thrilled, especially with the incredible local musician Loudon Mackay and his band.

A Personal Touch

I loved the thoughtful touches Josie and Jerome incorporated into the celebration. At the bar, each guest was given a silver tumbler engraved with their name and a set of seemingly random numbers. But these numbers weren’t random at all. They were the latitude and longitude coordinates of a special place tied to that guest or to Josie and Jerome’s memories.. It was such a unique and personal way to honor each guest!

A Wedding to Remember

Josie and Jerome’s Summer micro wedding at tulach Ard was a celebration of love and friendship. Their laid-back approach, combined with their genuine care for their guests, made for a truly unforgettable day. From the stunning location to the heartfelt moments, it was a wedding that will be remembered for years to come.

Thank you, Josie and Jerome, for letting us be part of your special day. Here’s to more beautiful weddings at Tulach Ard — the perfect Highland getaway!
